Most
of my drawings are done without pre-drawing or reference. Lately,
I've been experimenting with digital drawings.
For hand drawn tattoos, I use pen and ink with no pencil pre-drawing
99% of the time.
Dragons are my favorite, but tribal tattoos, skulls, fire, and
wings remain at the top of the list. Over the years, I've had
many folks ask about how to go about getting a tattoo. My only
advice before getting a tattoo is this: Be sure you really,
really want it. It's permanent. Also, don't get something that
will remind you of something related to grief or sadness. You'll
likely regret it later. I recommend finding many tattoo drawings
before you get inked, compiling them for the artist doing the
actual ink work, and having that artist compose the final piece.
Once you've seen a stencil on your skin of what the piece will
look like, you'll be ready to commit to having it become a part
of you for the rest of your life. Good luck!
